A broken and out of tune piano, a couple of pins, some red thread and a digitally drawn line play with the notion of a line on paper. The frame of the animation fluctuates between a 2d surface and a 3d space. The animation can be seen screened as a short film or sits in an old piano mechanism. When in the latter the sound of the animation plays sporadically, playing a complete cycle then being silent for a while before playing again. This piece is part of a series that explore the connection between digital and actual manipulation of images, objects and sounds.
The work continues an interest in the slippage between media, absurd connections and the transitory nature of 'stuff' its meaning, function, and place in the world.
